Does the title remind you the song by Celine Dion “The Power of Love”? Don’t be afraid, you’re not the only one. Putting this similarity aside, the power of choice is undoubtedly strong. It is like when you choose the vegetables have bad taste you wouldn’t want to at least have them in your plate. I know. I have seen [actually heard] this [the strength of a choice I mean not the veggie-phobia- but I know that too]. I actually have just heard this.
It is my friend, quite a close one if I may say so. She [yes it's a she] has just made a choice to change.
It is wonderful I think when a person did make a choice that changes his/her life. I think it is pretty darn cool. By making the choice, the person acquires a higher level in adulthood. You see, making a choice is always [well almost always] affected by the maker’s surroundings. The people, the environment, the atmosphere, you name it. But when you really made a choice, I mean really made it, you are affected by yourself.
My friend here has made a choice that will change her life. She used to be an open person. She still is, but in quite a different way. She became much more religious, and that’s cool [may be not as what you think]. I see her now as a person who has learned many new things. I looked up even more on her. Of course, her choice is questioned by other people, even by her own mother. But if I may say, when you know what is best for you [and even for other people] it is worth fighting for.
To my friend, who is unlikely to read this, I pray, I pray that we will walk in the path of light, along with our families and friends. I pray that you will always have the strength of heart that guides you with your faith.
I can only speak to you in silence, I can only stare at you with my eyes closed, I can only touch you with miles away, cause I don’t want to smear you, I don’t want to pollute you, I don’t want to consume you, with my filthy self.
I am in Malang [OK, it's actually Batu] right now. It is good to be home.
